AICostMon ("the App") is a macOS menu bar application that displays your AI API usage statistics. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. The App:

• Does NOT collect personal information
• Does NOT use analytics or tracking
• Does NOT transmit data to any servers
• Does NOT share data with third parties

API Keys

The App requires you to enter your OpenAI and/or Anthropic API keys to function. These keys are:

• Stored locally on your Mac using macOS Keychain (Apple's secure credential storage)
• Never transmitted to any server other than the official API endpoints (api.openai.com, api.anthropic.com)
• Never shared with us or any third party
• Deletable at any time by removing them from the App's settings

Network Requests

The App makes network requests only to:

• api.openai.com — to fetch your OpenAI usage data
• api.anthropic.com — to fetch your Anthropic usage data

No other network connections are made. The App does not have its own backend server.

Payments

This app does not process any payments. AICostMon is a free application that displays usage information from your existing API accounts. Any costs shown in the App are charges from OpenAI or Anthropic for your API usage — not charges from us.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

• API keys: macOS Keychain
• User preferences: UserDefaults (local app storage)
• Usage history: Local files in the app's sandbox

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
